It was dark when I left for work this morning and it was dark when I left for home.  The likelihood of a 50+ hour workweek is increasingly certain as I set my alarm for 5:00am again for tomorrow morning.  Today felt like a terrible waste.  Half of my clients cancelled and rescheduled for next week on what was supposed to be a full day that I was completely prepared for.  And while appointments appear sparse in my Tuesday schedule, I have an abundance of paperwork to tend to and treatment plans that require my attention. 

Tomorrow and Friday look to be my only days for catching up or getting ahead, if my motivation permits as much.  Judging from today, it will be a victory just to keep my eyes open.  A new bottle of ibuprofen in my top left desk drawer scares away any tension headaches that attempt to take root in the middle of my forehead and a large batch of coffee will keep my mind focused.

My birthday is next Thursday.  I told my parents I didn’t want to do anything special.  Anymore, it’s rewarding just to get a free night void of obligation and plans.  Spending more time in Terre Haute is less exciting and more stress inducing.  My favorite time of the day is my drive home.

If I watch Mad Men while falling asleep, I feel more motivated to go to work.  But I’m no Donald Draper.  That is evident.
